Hello Friends,
What a great week we have had here in Michigan. It is finally starting to feel like Fall. We have such gorgeous summers here but I do have to say that Fall is my favorite season. There is just something magical about the leaves changing color, apple picking, the chilly nights full of football games, bonfires and a good cup of coffee with a pumpkin cookie. Oh my heart!! This past week I have already made pumpkin bread, pumpkin cookies and pumpkin bars…..I may have gone a little overboard but what can I say I was so excited for Fall to start.
With the arrival of Autumn I have started decorating my house for the season. There are lots of white pumpkins, red flannel blankets, bonfires in our backyard and apple cider warming on the stove. I don’t know about you guys but I LOVE when my favorite blogs start doing the Fall Home Tours! Some of my favorites this year are Craftberry Bush , Liz Marie House Seven City Farmhouse and The Nester I will post more pictures of our Fall decorations soon but here is a little snippet of our decor this year.

A few months ago I received a wonderful present from my Hubby that I wanted to show all of you. Meet our Fiddle Leaf Fig. The past two years I have been obsessed with trying to find one of these beauties. This plant is pretty famous in blog land and I was dying to get my hands on one. They are very hard to find in Michigan! But I went to my local greenhouse and they ordered one for me. I am obsessed, it is such a gorgeous plant. Before I got my Fiddle Leaf, I was searching all over for a perfect planter. I was on Young House Love’s blog and spotted this beautiful redish coral planter in the picture below. Believe it or not I could not find one the right color…..(Side note….if you have never looked through John & Sherry’s Showhouse you need to go it is a must see!)

Anyways I found a planter that I really liked at JoAnn Fabrics for $30 but had a 50% off coupon so it only cost me $15. However, it still was not the right color so I also purchased some spray paint. The spray paint I got was Rust-Oleum and the color was “Poppy.”  In about 2 hours the planter was painted and almost dry. I did two coats of the paint to really hide the dark green color. There you go…my take on Young House Love’s planter. Now I just pray that my plant will grow to look as good as their Fiddle Leaf in the picture!

All done and in the planter… I love the color although it may be a little bright for my Hubby’s taste.. 🙂
