Our Little Cape Cod

Hello Blog Land!

It has once again been quite a while since I have posted. I apologize! I’ve learned that life with a newborn is nothing but busy. I’m reminded daily by my friends and family that these are the times to slow down and soak in all of these memories. I have realized you only get these special moments once with each child and I want to remember them. I’m learning that cuddling with my sweet boy for one morning is more important then doing the laundry that day and that is okay! My Hudson is only 5 months old but it has already gone by so fast. However, I will try to post more regularly… but what can I say…Hudson runs the schedule 🙂

So in light of it being November 22nd already (where has the time gone!?) I have already put away all of my Fall decor and I already have most of our Christmas decorations out…yes I am one of those people who is slightly obsessed with Christmas and everything that it brings! It truly is my favorite time of year. However before I brought out Christmas I decided to snap a few pictures of our home for you to see…..I promise to do a full Home Tour one of these days! But for now hopefully these will suffice.

We finally finished our Tufted King Headboard. This was definitely one of the more challenging DIY projects I have done but one of the most rewarding! When I was looking up how to make our headboard I noticed there were not many tutorials for a King Size headboard so I wanted to make sure that I put ours up. I am working on the whole tutorial and that will be up on the blog soon!

As I mentioned before this is not our whole house, only a few rooms but I promise I will get a full Home Tour up eventually! Thanks for stopping by. Next up our Tufted Headboard Tutorial, Nursery Reveal and some Christmas Decorating Tips & Tricks! Happy Weekend

Hudson Theodore

Hello Friends,

It has been a while since I have posted and I apologize for that! But my husband and I welcomed our beautiful baby boy, Hudson Theodore into this world on June 29th. He is probably the most perfect and precious little thing I have ever seen. However, I am sure every mother says that about their baby. 🙂 Becoming a mother has been wonderful but it is definitely an adjustment. I can honestly say I have never been this exhausted. So many people warn you but no one can prepare you for it. The first week was worse then I imagined, all I kept thinking was that I won’t ever get to sleep again. One night Hudson was crying and I woke up thinking I wasn’t sure if I could keep doing this. I couldn’t believe how unbelievably tired I was. As I picked him up from his crib he looked up at me and smiled and it suddenly made everything better. It didn’t matter how tired I was, it didn’t matter that the house was a mess, or that I hadn’t showered in days, I had a perfectly handsome healthy baby boy in my life and that’s all that mattered. I would truly do anything for him. I finally felt like his mother and I loved it.

I look up to mothers so much more now. Becoming a mother makes you appreciate your own mother and mothers everywhere a whole lot more. I am only two months in and I already realize how much you have to do and give up for your child. However, I have realized that motherhood is a wonderful gift from God and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful husband who is such a wonderful father to Hudson. I have loved seeing my husband Ross transition into being a father. My mother always said “When you see how much your husband loves your children, you will love your husband like never before.” That is the truth!

Now that I finally feel like I have a routine down I will be posting on the blog at least once a week! I will be blogging about my DIY projects & DIY fails, decorating our home, and bits & pieces of my journey as a new momma. I have been saving up lots of projects and I can’t wait to share them with you.  But first a few pictures of our sweet baby boy Hudson Theodore…..

So excited to be back on the blog. A few things I will be posting about next will be Hudson’s nursery reveal, our DIY Tufted headboard, tips on lengthening curtains and more! Stay tuned 🙂

Nursery Inspiration Board

Hello Friends!

I have finally finished my inspiration board for our baby boy who is on the way. The nursery is coming along! Let me tell you a little bit about the room…..The walls are dark gray with wooden floors; I wanted to keep the gray going throughout the room as well as adding some neutral colors. I am a little obsessed with the color mint so I am adding pops of mint and gold to the room as well. I didn’t want to have a “theme” for the room. We are going to add some rustic wooden shelves and some wooden frames as well. My goal was to have a very eclectic and rustic style in this room. I cannot wait to get everything into the room and put into place. I will post a few progress pictures as it is coming together. Details on all of the items are below. Some of the items I will be making myself instead of purchasing. Tutorials coming soon.
